In one scene from the classic film "The Princess Bride", Wesley tells Princess Buttercup, "Life is pain. Anyone who says differently is selling something." I'm sure that you can all relate to the reality of pain in our lives. We live in a fallen world and the result is sickness, pain, and death. But, for those of us who have received the gift of adoption into God's family, we can have real hope even in the midst of our pain. Although we grieve in the midst of tragedy, we don't grieve like those who are without hope (1 Thes. 4:13). God is always present and pain never has the last say. |
