When the mother came out of her coma to find she had given birth and that her brother had named the twins, she became very worried, because he wasn't a very bright guy. She was sure he had named them something absurd or stupid.
When she saw her brother she asked him about the twins.
He said, "The first one was a girl."
The mother: "What did you name her?!?"
Brother: "Denise!"
The Mom: "Oh, wow, that's not bad! What about the second one?"
Brother: "The second one was a boy."
The Mom: "Oh, and what did you name him?"
Brother: "Denephew."
Names are important! This Sunday, December 7th, we'll be taking a break from our journey through the Bible to focus on the Advent season. We'll be looking at Isaiah's prophecy in chapter 9, verse 6 in which he says the following about the promised Messiah:
For a child is born to us,
a son is given to us.
The government will rest on his shoulders.
And he will be called:
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
By the way, we've decided to postpone our monthly Communion service until next Sunday the 14th so that we'll have more time.
